Leroy was homeless for 16 years before discovering his high aptitude for mathematics. He is a college student, who will soon be a professor. Dr. Dewy Mays lost his medical license and drank himself into depression; he moved to LA and lived on the streets for two years. Step Up gave him a home and he became a drug abuse counselor helping others to rehabilitate. Fuji sprang from a life sentence after being in prison for 26 years. Through charity organizations like STEP UP, caring strangers, and a belief in God, these men were able to make remarkable changes in their lives. Against all odds, they went from hitting rock bottom, to now, miraculously thriving and leading positive, admiral lives.
